It would be really nice if the i915 driver could (optionally) sync with the
vblank like ATI ( and mga? ) drivers support. This would avoid ugly tearing
effects.

okay I've made a first pass attempt at vblank I'll attach a patch for the drm
and a patch for Mesa

woohoo, many thanks for this Dave :) However I dont have the h/w anymore to test
