I have a laptop with an external screen

the screen definition and size are of corse differents

when i log in i go into desktop configuration, screen and put right informations for the two screens

if i looing again, all informations are lost, by default external screen got same definition than laptop screen

the xorg configuration does'nt change aby files uder /etc/X11/xorg/conf.d

X.Org does not ship any "desktop configuration" gui - you need to
report this to whoever provides that GUI.
