those "independent" versions of mesa-demos missing lion-render.h, making building lion OpenVG demo impossible. also, size of those is so much smaller than last "non-independent" version, 7.8.2, that it makes one to wonder if it can be missing about 1/3 of its stuff. i haven't checked that though. and, by the way, you may noticed that your bugtracker missing not only versioning for mesa-demos (as it independent now but still lies with mesa) but also there is no versions for mesa past 7.6. i pretty sure there was some more of them.
I've fixed the Makefile.am to add the lion-render.h file to the tarball for next time. I'll see about updating the list of versions in bugzilla.
openvg/trivial/eglcommon.h also seems to be missing. I've added it in a following commit.
