Description Pablo Rodríguez 2010-10-07 13:21:41 UTC
Hi there,

as reported in bug 28053 (and in bug 30688), searching speed is different when searching the whole PDF document depending on the PDF document itself.

Searching speed is extremely fast when searching this document http://www.archive.org/download/LaTransformacinDelConceptoDeReflexinDeKantAHegel.ElTrnsitoDel/TesisRosa-B5-Uni.pdf. It takes almost 5 secs to search the whole document. acroread-9.4 needs less almost 10 secs to do the same job. Congratulations.

But when compared to bug 30688 it is almost ten times faster (and the document in that bug has much less text) and compared to bug 28053 is 25 times faster (again the document there has much fewer text).

Is there no way to improve searching speed in documents where poppler is not so fast?

Thanks for your help,

Pablo
