Description Matthew Booth 2010-11-24 02:39:30 UTC
I'm running an F14 guest on an F14 host, and interacting with the guest using spicec. Windows which I would otherwise expect to look completely identical on host and guest are in fact rendered subtly differently. The rendering of the guest display in spicec is considerably harder on the eyes over a period of time.

It is my understanding that the difference is due to physical display information not being available to the guest. Could spice please be enhanced such that the guest can take full advantage of the actual physical monitor which is being used?

Can you be more specific about what kind of "physical display
information" you think is missing? the EDID from the monitor ?

I don't know anything at all about this topic :)

However, I might guess at pixel geometry for a start. If this fits into a class of information which the monitor makes available, I would guess that all of it is required.
