Here the steps to prepare the system:

- get mesa vg support (I assume that doesn't require explanations)

- fetch cairo git.

- apply at least the attached patches

- build cairo passing --enable-vg to configure

- enter the tests directory

- issue `make run TOOL=gdb TARGETS=vg-egl`

I couldn't find a simple way to trace the calls vg+egl calls alone so probably that's the best way to reproduce the issues I'm experiencing

openvg support has been removed
