MPI file for Xperia X8

Here is MPI file for Sony Ericsson Xperia X8. It's the same added on related bug on launchpad[1]

USB IDs are related to "normal" mode (3149) and "USB debug" mode (2149)

Questions:
  1) "AccessProtocol=android;storage" or "AccessProtocol=storage" ?
     (BTW README file reports only "storage" as valid)

  2) I would like to add an Icon key ("phone-sony-ericsson-xperia-x8")
     'cause it's a phone, not a media player, but I suspect we should
     do the same for many other devices

  3) maybe "AudioFolders=Music/;Video/" ??

Adding Video in AudioFolders key allows banshee (ubuntu 10.10) to list and manage videos in X8. Is suspect the same occurs in other Xperia devices.

Unfortunately now Rhythmbox lists crap as playlists, see attached screenshot.

Crap in rhythmbox for X8

I'll perform more tests later. Question "PHONE CARD"?? Any way to use "Xperia X8"? :)

Does Rhythmbox also list the crap without "Video" in AudioFolders? I suppose it does, and then we might just as well add it.

1) No "android" just yet, this isn't ready to land yet. I'll take it out when committing the mpi

2) Please go ahead with adding an icon. Right, it needs to be done for a lot of other devices, too, but that's no reason to not start now :)

"PHONE CARD"> that's a gvfs bug and should be fixed there.

The crap seems related to [Playlist] section. Maybe we should warn Rhythmbox developers to ignore those files.

However the media player available in X8 is unable manage playlists. It only provides 3 smart/automatic playlists (recent, most played, never played), no ability to add and no ability to recognize audio/x-scpls playlists added by Rhythmbox. What about other Xperia devices?

Currently my own X8 has android 1.6, the update notification to 2.1 come just few hours ago. So I'm planning to perform more test on 1.6 before upgrade. Any suggestion? Something special to check?

I've found a default-capabilities.xml file on card root, providing some info about supported formats and directories. I'm adding here, just removing the IMEI data.

I'll file a separate bug with patches :)

OK, I'll file it. Any suggestion for subject and/or escription?

Updated MPI file

Updated MPI file based on
 * audio/video supported format listed in capability file
 * no support to playlist
 * storage, not android

Hm - "Use media-player-info device name instead of partition label for music players"?
