Description Elmar Stellnberger 2010-12-30 09:01:34 UTC
The DRI code is still unstable and causes Xorg to crash sometimes at bootup sometimes a short while after working. Even worse through a livelock of the input queue the whole system becomes irresponsive and needs to be rebooted (Bug 32393).

The problem still exists for the newest xorg/mesa updates (xorg-x11-server-7.6_1.9.3-103.4, Mesa-7.9.802-54.1). It is a blocker to graphics accelaration and 3D-support so that I would personally attribute high prirority to a soon fix.

We don't actively support UMS, please switch to a distro supporting KMS, closing.

Reopen if you still have issue with KMS and R600G 3d driver
