Description psyclonejack 2010-12-31 09:05:28 UTC
Tired to open a .doc file from school, which was saved with Canadian spell check. Crash! I see just enough to see that it shows Canadian at the bottom of writer for what language to use, but it crash after the doc is fully loaded, Leaves behind a hidden file ~.lock, that I have to delete in order to load the doc again.

Example of file that crashes is attached.

Suggest that Libreoffice should indicate that the proper dictionary is not installed and offer to install it for you.

Does the same happen with Belgian or Swiss dictionaries, I wonder?

[This is an automated message.]
This bug was filed before the changes to Bugzilla on 2011-10-16. Thus it
started right out as NEW without ever being explicitly confirmed. The bug is
changed to state NEEDINFO for this reason. To move this bug from NEEDINFO back
to NEW please check if the bug still persists with the 3.5.0 beta1 or beta2 prereleases.
Details on how to test the 3.5.0 beta1 can be found at:

On pc Debian x86-64 with 3.5 branch and master (both updated today), I don't reproduce the crash.

Since no feedback from the reportee since several months I update the status to RESOLVED/WORKSFORME

Feel free to reopen if you reproduce this bug with last current LO version (3.5.3 for example).
