Description Rusty Russell 2011-01-03 21:00:23 UTC
My SO lost hours of work after rebooting. High annoyance value: "Microsoft doesn't do this".

Scenario:
1) Mailed document to herself as attachment.
2) Mailer opened it, but Read Only (under /tmp/...).
3) She used Save-As to make it writable.
4) Hours of work and one reboot later, she asked me where it was.

It'd be invaluable if LO warned when some significant amount of work has gone into a document which is being saved in /tmp.

Thanks,
Rusty.

This was auto closed but I myself was about to request this exact feature. I just spent a few hours writting an essay based on a revised version I downloaded from gmail. I was lucky and checked realized the version was wrong and my work was in /tmp but if I had not gone to rename the file I likely would have lost hours of work.

Sounds like a plausible enhancement request.

I imagine this was fixed in LO 5.4 with
