Description duke1995 2011-01-26 13:04:00 UTC
I am unable to open the attached PowerPoint presentation.
When I double click the file, LibreOffice starts up but exits without a warning during the import of the PowerPoint presentation.
When I start LibreOffice first and then open the presentation via the menu (File > Open ...), the PowerPoint import starts, but stops at a certain point (at approximately 70% of the process).
Comment 1 duke1995 2011-01-26 13:17:08 UTC
Added an URL to the presentation as the file was too large to be attached.

Wow that's a big document but it opens for me ( in about ten seconds ) dual core 4G Ram linux.
Not sure what kind of machine you are using, if low spec maybe worth leaving run a little longer and maybe the load will complete
Additionally I am running on 64bit ( will try to test on a 32 bit machine later )

Additionally I don't see the problem of the exit without warning:-/
Comment 3 Noel Power 2011-01-27 03:43:12 UTC
:-( didn't look carefully enough, this is windows, will try that too
Comment 4 Noel Power 2011-01-27 03:51:27 UTC
ok reproduced on windows
1. the 75% ( when opening the document from within libreoffice )
2. the exit mid opening of the document when you open the file via context menu 'Open with...' ( I don't have the associations set up ;-) )

Tor can you have a look at this ( seemingly windows only ) bug
Comment 5 duke1995 2011-01-28 15:47:25 UTC
FYI: The presentation opens without any problems in OpenOffice.org 3.2.0 Portable on Windows XP.
Comment 6 duke1995 2011-01-28 16:01:20 UTC
I just installed OpenOffice.org 3.3.0 to do the same test, and in OpenOffice.org 3.3.0 the presentation is opened correctly too.
Comment 7 digital ant 2011-03-18 19:28:30 UTC
PPT File opens in LibO 3.3.2rc2 on both Windows XP sp3 build 2600 with JRE 1.6.0_24 and on OSX 10.5.8 with Apple jre 1.5.0_28

duke1995: It is utterly pointless to compare to a different product.

The document loads just fine (in about half a minute) into LibreOffice 3.4 beta1 (with bug #36263 fixed) on XP, and as digital_ant says it loads fine in 3.3.2, too, I am resolving as WORKSFORME.
