Description Simon Cropper 2011-02-13 19:40:05 UTC
Note that historically the page numbers in the index of tables, contents, etc where hyperlinks. I suspect that they are still meant to be as the 'edit index' section shows the page numbers as being hyperlinks. Unfortunately they are not hyperlinks when viewing the document. If you insert an Index of Tables then try and click on the page number it does not move. Inserting a cross-reference of a table into the document does create a hyperlink and allows the user to jump to the target object.

I don't understand the problem.

@Simon Cropper:
Please attach a sample document and information with what Linux and LibO version you observed your problem.

Example of automatically created table without hyperlinks

This odt file has a list of tables but the numbers are not hyperlinks. In the past they were.

I am using Ubuntu 10.04 LTR and LibreOffice 3.3.0 OOO330m19 (Build:6)
tag libreoffice-3.3.0.4, Ubuntu package 1:3.3.0-1lucid1

I simply see that there are no hyperlinks in the index and that it seems to be impossible to create hyperlinks. #
OOo 3.1.1 seems to behave in the same way.
I agree that hyperlinks would be useful.
Currently I see this as an Enhnacement Request

@Simon Cropper:
Please substantiate your statements:

> historically the page numbers [...] where hyperlinks
  -- I only see that in a TOC I can add the hyperlink function to page
     numbers, in Table index I can not do that. Where do you see a hyperlink
     function?
> the 'edit index'section shows the page numbers as being hyperlinks
  -- I can't see that
Comment 5 Simon Cropper 2011-02-14 13:50:34 UTC
Rainer,

You appear to be right about it being impossible to make hyperlinks. I don't currently have OO available so I was going on memory that this functionality existed. Going back over my historic OO documents, particularly those rendered to PDF, none were found to have hyperlinks in the index tables. The only documents I found were actually generated using Word 2000.

So sorry for wasting you time. Maybe this should be bumped to a list of potential changes to be implemented in future.

Simon

@Simon Cropper
No time wasted, I believe that's an useful Enhancement request

This commit added hyperlinks by default on the whole entry of the TOC. This could fit this request...
