See OpenOffice 3.2.0 and LibreOffice 3.3.0 in relation

In LibreOffice the border around checked icons in toolbar is gone, compared to OpenOffice 3.2.0. It's nearly impossible to distinguish between checked and unchecked icons. See attached screenshot.

Though the screenshot shows LO 3.3.0 the problem still exists in LO 3.3.1.

The problem is gone if a different theme is used (XP Luna or Win7 Aero Basic) but this is only a really bad workaround.

Windows XP/7, "Windows Classic" theme

Would it be sensible to use the native Windows Classic theme?

It always seemed like a bizarre design decision to adopt any theme other that Windows Classic, but when Windows Classic is selected to use a hard-coded theme that looks nothing like a native Windows program.
