stumbled across a issue with colortiling with an x300 card I have and saw the issue with an x1300 card I had borrowed but didn't know the problem at the time with it enabled some weird blocking distortion occurs when certain apps are loaded the 2 that seem to trigger it are gnucash when the register is displayed and openoffice (version 3.2.1 is what i have) kernel I'm running is 2.6.38-rc6 on debian squeeze I did notice afterwards the following in dmesg wasn't watching it as I was testing options but time wise is probably close to around then [ 819.840799] [drm:r100_cs_packet_parse] *ERROR* Unknown packet type 1 at 452 ! [ 819.840808] [drm:radeon_cs_ioctl] *ERROR* Invalid command stream ! [ 819.864126] [drm:r100_cs_packet_parse] *ERROR* Unknown packet type 1 at 3024 ! [ 831.949559] [drm:radeon_cs_ioctl] *ERROR* Invalid command stream ! Let me know what else is needed
This is probably a duplicate of bug 33929. You might try the xserver patch there. As for the CS rejections, it would be great if you could track down what app or event causes them.
looks like openoffice is but not till a spreadsheet is opened doesn't look like a text document causes the issue I'll note for this that I do have git of cairo and pixman installed and cairo is being told to use the gl backend if it matters any
I haven't tested the exa patch yet but I turned on colortiling and tried running some benchmarks including openarena with it and it worked for 10 seconds or so then the computer froze and rebooted itself it had been running the same benchmark set fine with it off I assume that exa patch wouldn't effect this issue in the least? should I file another bug on this as it might be mesa related instead?
Mass closure: This bug has been untouched for more than six years, and is not obviously still valid. Please reopen this bug or file a new report if you continue to experience issues with current releases.
