When I am using the sis driver and I load pages with a lot of images within
firefox, my system usually freezes within five minutes. I have also had freezes
while running other applications but they are less frequent. The system becomes
completely dead, and the caps lock key does not work. I have no such problems
with the vesa driver.

I am currently running SuSE 9.2. I previously had the problem under Kubuntu and
Gentoo. I didn't check the drivers on the latter two so I can't be sure I was
using sis on those, but I assume that I was.

System info:
PowerSpec 8985
Athlon 64 3400+
SiS 760 video card

Software info on SuSE:
kernel 2.6.8 x86_64
glibc 2.3.3
x.org 6.8.1

Software info on Kubuntu/Gentoo:
various kernels between 2.6.8 and 2.6.10, x86_64
various glibc between 2.3.3 and 2.3.5
varios x.org between 6.7.0 and 6.8.2

Did you try the driver from my website (www.winischhofer.at/linuxsisvga.shtml)?

I will close this bug if there is no response from the reporter within a month
from now.

Ah... the bugzilla database collapsed and lost the reporter. Great.
