I've got an HP Pavilion N3390 with a Silicon Motion Lynx3DM card on FreeBSD 5.4-RELEASE running Xorg 6.8.2. The result of this bug is that the laptop locks up. The screen goes completely black, I cannot switch to other virtual terminals, and I cannot kill X with the ctrl+alt+bkspc or via ssh. However, humorously, if I background the process via ssh X will slowly let go of all of the system resources it consumed ( which is all, if it can manage to do so ) but it still will not die. The computer must be rebooted ( or switched into single user mode ). Note: The above log shows that I had my referesh rates set incorrectly. This hasn't affected the result or the log, save for the bits dealing directly with refresh rates. This driver works correctly on Linux using the same X version.
