Description Łukasz 2011-03-21 13:42:49 UTC
There is a problem in Calc. When I write something in Writer in Polish language with special chars like: Ą, Ę, Ć, Ł, Ó, Ś, Ż, Ź, copy it and paste in Calc, the pasted text is different than the one in Writer. There are some strange chars used in the text instead of the one I used.
And of course OpenOffice 3.3.0 dosn't have such problem.

Steps to Reproduce:

Type "ŻÓŁTY" (means YELLOW in English) in Writer, then paste it to Calc. You will see the difference.

If there is a problem with reproducing, see the attachment.

Build & Platform:

libreoffice-3.3.2.2(3.3.2 RC2) and as far as I know all erlier versions on Windows.

Unfortunately because of that bug I'm forced to go back to OpenOffice 3.3.0 :(

Seem to be Windows-only issue.

Confirm for Russian Windows XP SP3 and Windows 7 SP1 with paste as RTF (default paste method) and Times New Roman font.

LibO version: all from 3.3.0 till 3.4.0 beta1.
PS. There is no such problem in vanilla OOo 3.3.0
Comment 4 Petr Mladek 2011-05-12 06:00:09 UTC
I am not able to reproduce this with 3.4.0-beta4 build on Windows => it is either fixed or not that common problem => lovering severity a bit

Lukazs, could you please try the last 3.4 build? You could find it at http://www.libreoffice.org/download/pre-releases/

If you still see it. Could you please attach .odt document with the problematic string? It would help to make sure that we try the same thing.
Comment 5 Łukasz 2011-05-12 08:15:22 UTC
Hello!

Thanks for help Petr. The problem still exists, but in Beta 4 it's getting better. I noticed that it appears only when I use Times New Roman. If I'm using other fonts, like Arial, Comic Sans MS and others it works fine.

[This is an automated message.]
This bug was filed before the changes to Bugzilla on 2011-10-16. Thus it
started right out as NEW without ever being explicitly confirmed. The bug is
changed to state NEEDINFO for this reason. To move this bug from NEEDINFO back
to NEW please check if the bug still persists with the 3.5.0 beta1 or beta2 prereleases.
Details on how to test the 3.5.0 beta1 can be found at:
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/BugHunting_Session_3.5.0.-1

Comment 10 Łukasz 2011-12-25 08:33:41 UTC
Unfortunately bug still exists in LibO 3.5 beta1 and beta2.
Comment 11 Eugene Kin 2012-01-16 05:21:13 UTC
Still exists in LibO 3.5 beta3
Comment 12 Eugene Kin 2012-02-05 22:42:27 UTC
LibO 3.5 RC3 - bug still there
Comment 13 Julien Nabet 2012-08-18 17:59:47 UTC
On Windows 7 with 3.6.0.4, I don't reproduce the problem even with Times New Roman
(I didn't test on 3.5.5)

Łukasz: do you still reproduce it with newer LO version?
Comment 14 Łukasz 2012-08-18 20:01:38 UTC
@Julien Nabet

It seems to be solved, at least in 3.6.0.4 on Win7 x64. Thanks for noticing.
