When opening a existing impress-file the "remit-field" (German: Aufgabenbereich) is shown. If in menue "view" "remit-field" (German: Aufgabenbereich) has been hided and opening the impress-file again remit-field" (German: Aufgabenbereich) is shown again. Resume: questionable bug (i.e. permanent suppression not possible)
Can you please attach the document that shows the behavior? Thank you!

[This is an automated message.] This bug was filed before the changes to Bugzilla on 2011-10-16. Thus it started right out as NEW without ever being explicitly confirmed. The bug is changed to state NEEDINFO for this reason. To move this bug from NEEDINFO back to NEW please check if the bug still persists with the 3.5.0 beta1 or beta2 prereleases. Details on how to test the 3.5.0 beta1 can be found at: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/BugHunting_Session_3.5.0.-1 more detail on this bulk operation: http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/RFC-Operation-Spamzilla-tp3607474p3607474.html
Bug persists IMHO
Sorry. Bug persists IMHO. Tested with LO 3.5 Beta2 (today).
NEW, unassigned bug: replace "infoprovider" with move to state "NEEDINFO".
needinfo keyword redundant by needinfo status.
setting bug back to state UNCONFIRMED as bug reporter has answered the request for information.
Thanks for bugreport Panes "Slides" and "Tasks" appears automatically. It is not a bug. It is presentation. But we can ask developers for adding option, that disables them permanently. For this we should transform this bug to functionality request. Meanwhile, just undock this pane. It may closed then more quickly. May I ask You: for what this needed? To achieve something like fullscreen mode for editing slides? Or something else?
Sasha is right. Set Status to RESOLVED/NOTABUG according to comment #11.
@Sasha: > Meanwhile, just undock this pane. It may closed then more quickly. I too. But it is IMHO a click too much - IMHO unnecessary (I know: subjective opinion). I use presentation very often. > May I ask You: for what this needed? To achieve something like fullscreen mode > for editing slides? Or something else? When opening a existing impress-file the "remit-field" (German: Aufgabenbereich) is shown. I usually do not need the "remit-field". Enhancement: Create a setting/option, that after hidding "remit-field" (German: Aufgabenbereich), closing presentation und re-opening presentation "remit-field" is shown never again. I have changed status to "unconfirmed" and importance to "enhancement".
(In reply to comment #13) > Enhancement: > Create a setting/option, that after hidding "remit-field" (German: > Aufgabenbereich), closing presentation und re-opening presentation > "remit-field" is shown never again. > > I have changed status to "unconfirmed" and importance to "enhancement". OK; adapted Summary field to reflect that this is now an enhancement request, and set Status to "NEW".
[Reproducible] with "LibreOffice 3.5.4.2 (RC2) German UI/Locale [Build-ID: 165a79a-7059095-e13bb37-fef39a4-9503d18] on German WIN7 Home Premium (64bit), still in WRITER. It's at least inconsistent that Navigator can be deselected permanently, but Task Pane and Slide Pane only for this session, although the items view does not cause any suspect that behavior might be different. Same with DRAW Slide pane. For me that's a Bug, but let's follow AOOo and leave it an RFE.
@ Jochen As I can understand, You not press F5 for show presentation in SlideShow mode, but use Edit mode for demonstrating presentation? And need to disable pane for spare some screen area. I right understand problem or no?
@sasha: I do not know for what Jochen needs that, but for me the desire is much more simple than you assume: When I open a document to continue editing, I want to see it exactly so as I saw it when I closed it. Same slide, same toolbars, same panes, ... . That currently is broken because LibO on one's own authority enables some UI elements I disabled the last session
> When I open a document to continue editing, I want to > see it exactly so as I saw it when I closed it. So, setting should be saved inside of document. For allow different setting for different document.
@Sasha: No - this is not the problem. The problem is the following fact: Start LibreOffice respectively "impress" (the presentation component of LibreOffice) and/or open an existing impress-file (ppt-file). If the existing impress-file (ppt-file) is opened, a "remit-field" (German: Aufgabenbereich) is shown on the right half of the screen. You can now close "remit-field". I do this automatically because I do not use this feature very often. If you clos the impress-file and open this impress-file again this "remit-field" is shown again. Now I have to close the "remit-field" again. This is IMHO a click too much - IMHO unnecessary (I know: subjective opinion). But I use impress very often. I have to do the click very often. Rainer believes that a bug exists - o.k. bug or enhancement: this is the question. Therefore my enhancement: Create a setting/option, that after hidding "remit-field" (German: Aufgabenbereich), closing presentation und re-opening presentation "remit-field" is shown never again. Do you now understand my mind? I believe that has previously been a misunderstanding.
@Sasha reply to your mail from 2012-05-28 01:21:59 PDT > So, setting should be saved inside of document. I find no way to do this to solve my problem/request. > For allow different setting for different document. I find also no way to do this to solve my problem/request.
It is formulation of functionality to be implemented: "Setting of UI should be saved inside of document". Developers need exact description what to implement for not spend time in discussions and immediately to begin programming.
Document related UI would be optimum (for example, for some spreadsheets I prefer "Enter with auto down", for others I prefer "Enter with auto right"), but here not discussed, please excuse me for my misleading comment. Here it is sufficient that LibO respects user's settings: - when toolbars are undocked, Libo should not show them docked at next reopen - when elements have been hidden, they should not be shown at next reopen
added link to bug 35973 as there is work being done on remembering the visibility of the side-panes.
From 3.7 on the Task-pane (German: Aufgabenbereich) and the slide-pane remember the state of the last session. So it comes close to the wanted feature. The problem with making it dependent on the file is that then that would need to be specified in the formats which probably isn't.
@ Jochen: What do you thing? Rob Snelders wrote (comment #24): > From 3.7 on the Task-pane (German: Aufgabenbereich) and the slide-pane > remember the state of the last session. So it comes close to the wanted > feature. Rob Snelders is definitely right here. The visibility status of the “Task” pane (German: “Aufgabenbereich”) is now remembered correctly; I have verified this with the newest daily build [1]. Thank you, Rob! So what do you (Jochen) think -- can we close this bug now, or do you thing that more is necessary (e.g. making it depend on the file)? Please state your opinion. Thank you very much! [1] Tested on Mac OS X 10.6.8 (Intel) with LOdev 4.0.0.0.alpha1+ (Build ID: 519c947f213ec69b0c92d3ea76193270644263e; pull time: 2012-11-28 04:07:39).
@Roman I believe that the solution is ok -> status changed to RESOLVED FIXED. The feature "Allow permanent suppression of Task Pane and Slide Pane" should be dependent on the component Impress and not on the file.
@ Jochen: Thank you!
Assigned afterwards to Rob Snelders, because IIRC he has fixed this (cf. http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleaseNotes/4.0#Impress), so let us give him the honour ;-)
