Description FreeDesktop Bugzilla Database Corruption Fix User 2005-06-22 15:27:33 UTC
I'm having some problems with getting X to start on a PowerMac G4 with an ATI
Rage 128 video card with 16MB Video RAM... sometimes on boot, I get "aty128fb:
Invalid ROM signature 1111 should be 0xaa55" and it hangs, and sometimes it gets
the error, but is able to get past it, but then X can't start, with an error of
(EE) R128(0): Cannot read V_BIOS (5) and then (EE) R128(0): No DFP detected.

/etc/xorg.conf has the video card configured thusly:
Section "Device"
     Identifier "Videocard0"
     Driver "r128"
     VendorName "Videocard vendor"
     BoardName "ATI Rage 128"
EndSection

Here is the output from lspci:

please verify that this is still an issue with the 6.8.99.14 snapshot or later,
and if it is please attach the server log from the crash.
