localc saves current xls format if we refuse from odt but saving in the format 5.0 corrupts a document. I do not think that should fix saving in 5.0 format but it should offer to change format to 97/2000/XP. Or, perhaps, to change unconditionally.

This bug was filed before the changes to Bugzilla on 2011-10-16. Thus it
started right out as NEW without ever being explicitly confirmed. The bug is
changed to state NEEDINFO for this reason. To move this bug from NEEDINFO back
to NEW please check if the bug still persists with the 3.5.0 beta1 or beta2 prereleases.

An EasyHack should have been checked by developers and thus is confirmed regardless of age. Moving back to NEW from NEEDINFO again. Sorry for the hassle.

Sadly the Excel 95 format support has never reached maturity before being removed.

And? This is not about fixing the Excel 5.0/95 export, but offering save to Excel 97/2000/XP instead for such document. At least read the description before closing a bug with WONTFIX.

With 4-0 being the earliest supported branch now and that already has saving to Excel 5.0 format removed we can indeed close this. Sorry for fuzz.
