[This is an automated message.]
This bug was filed before the changes to Bugzilla on 2011-10-16. Thus it
started right out as NEW without ever being explicitly confirmed. The bug is
changed to state NEEDINFO for this reason. To move this bug from NEEDINFO back
to NEW please check if the bug still persists with the 3.5.0 beta1 or beta2 prereleases.
Details on how to test the 3.5.0 beta1 can be found at:
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/QA/BugHunting_Session_3.5.0.-1

NOT REPRODUCIBLE with LibreOffice 3.5.4rc1, German langpack installed, on MacOS X 10.6.8 German UI. I tried with the Latin Modern Roman font family which is mentioned in the linked mailing list thread, but there is absolutely no problem.

Also, I have never seen such problems with LibreOffice 3.3.x, 3.4.x or 3.5.x on my machine, using many different fonts.

Maybe a hardware-dependend issue?

@saschaview:
Could you please try to find out if this problem is still reproducible for you with a current LibreOffice version, i.e. 3.5.3 or better? This would be very helpful!
