Description n.vivia 2011-05-10 15:25:34 UTC
It used to work. I'm sure. I used to be able to properly connect my HDMI TV.

Then I upgraded Ubuntu to Natty, installed a second partition with the proprietary drivers in case I need audio, and linked both home directories, which may have messed with some setting.

Now, I connect my HDMI TV and get this nice pop-up which asks me to reconfigure my screen settings. I set the TV's resolution to 1920x1080. The system thinks it works, I get a huge desktop and lose my mouse pointer when it goes beyond the right edge, but the TV says "no signal".

My xorg.conf and dmesg output are here: http://pastebin.com/TvGCPS01
I am using the minimal 4-line xorg.conf, but the same happens with no xorg.conf at all.

Tested with FC15 LiveCD. Same result... :(

By the way, this is my card:

How has this been fixed?
I'm facing the same issue.

Seems like different people have had conflicting results. Can everyone confirm that things work with the latest kernel? And if not, please attach your kernel boot logs and vbios.
