Description mhonline 2011-05-15 14:26:21 UTC
looks as if OOO-writer-files with grafical objects will always crash soffice.bin.exe (and file seems to be broken - file can can be saved but will always start recovery-process)the problem seems to be the conversion-process from old to new ODF-structur, as this happens too, when dialog save changes is terminated with cancellation.

Same with new-build files in LO works as expected

had worked with 3.3.2 - crashed 3.4 Beta 4 + 5

mhonline, could you please attach a sample document that shows the described behavior? It would help to get this fixed faster.
Comment 2 mhonline 2011-05-22 18:19:46 UTC
the file is private - seeing someone privacy-confirmation I will send private mail.

However:
I made a fresh setup with 3.4RC1 and fresh JRE 6_25.
At some stages, this version looks more stable (Base/navigator).

however
This file caused crash again.
The problem does not seems to be the file itself, but the error-
handling and memory-consumtion on errors. pls have a look at attached
WIN2K-debugger (CPU raises to 100 % and memory from 200MB to 1800mb)

regression/stopper

mhonline, you could send the document to Tor <tlillqvist@novell.com>. Alternatively, you might tried to remove the private content and attach the reduced file if it still shows the problem.

Anyway, we need a way to reproduce the problem. If you see it only with a particular document, it is most likely somehow related to the content, ...

Same problem with 34RC2

I tested this under XP Sp3 aswell, with same crash on save after changing content, and received an errormessage from msvcr90.dll, so probably you will need to find out, which portions are compiled with wrong (Express?)-compilerversion

We certainly don't build the LO we ship on Windows with the Express compiler.
Comment 7 mhonline 2011-06-19 18:58:55 UTC
That file is crashing 3.4.1 too

Comment 8 mhonline 2011-06-26 17:36:22 UTC
file is crashing LO 3.4.1 RC2 too.

As this is somehow related to the grafical objects in the file,
you might want to know, that it is nearly impossible to select,
deselect or get context-menu for those objects, all needs to
be done 10 times or so

[This is an automated message.]
This bug was filed before the changes to Bugzilla on 2011-10-16. Thus it
started right out as NEW without ever being explicitly confirmed. The bug is
changed to state NEEDINFO for this reason. To move this bug from NEEDINFO back
to NEW please check if the bug still persists with the 3.5.0 beta1 or beta2 prereleases.
Details on how to test the 3.5.0 beta1 can be found at:

needinfo keyword redundant by needinfo status.
Comment 12 sasha.libreoffice 2012-02-28 05:00:05 UTC
Please, verify in 3.5 version it crashes?
