Description Thomas 2011-06-03 01:03:08 UTC
Running LibreOffice 3.4 RC2 (with latest german language pack) under Mac OS 10.5.8 on a Powerbook G4 1,67GHz PowerPC, horizontal scrolling using my Mac's touchpad causes problems.

Scrolling into the right direction is working, scrolling to the left however causes LibreOffice to scroll (or even jump) further to the right, in an uncontrolled manner.

I have first encountered the problem in LibreOffice 3.3.0, but it has not been solved in any versions since then and still persists in version 3.4 RC2.

This problem is especially irritating when working with Calc or Base and makes productive use of LibreOffice really difficult for me.

I'd appreciate if anyone could fix it in an upcoming version!

RC2 is bit by bit identical with release version, so separate items in the version picker are useless. Changes have been discussed with Michael Meeks.

The problem still persists in LibreOffice 3.4.4 OOO340m1 (Build:402).

Any help will be highly appreciated!

On the Intel version of LibreOffice 3.4.4 OOO340m1 (Build:402), I cannot reproduce the problem.

My test procedure is:
 - restart LibreOffice
 - on the splash page, pick Spreadsheet
   - I get a spreadsheet called Untitled 1
 - type the number 1 in cell A1
 - click out and back in
   - cell has a square stretching handle in the bottom right corner
 - stretch vertically to about row 250
 - stretch horizontally to about column DM
 - position with scrollbars, to about the middle
 - put down two fingers and drag in all directions
   - scrollbars move smoothly in the expected directions

That makes it a power-pc specific bug, probably in parts of the operating system that the LibreOffice people did not write.

I presume that you are not supported by Apple. I think that you are going to need either a machine re-grade, or some good luck.
