Description Juan 2011-06-22 04:15:10 UTC
We run a qemu-enabled-spice with spice 0.8.1
Ubuntu 11.04 as guest using qxl graphics fails to set resolution when asked to.

What we experience is:
To set the guest resolution to 1024x768, then the spice client resizes to 1024x768, then immediately after resizes to 800x600, and then to 640x480.
We have traced this behaviour with xtrace and the X server log shows spice client resize events for those wrong resolutions.

This happens always, and it always resized down to 640x480, which makes impossible to work with, as the spice client window will show the Ubuntu with resolution of 1024x768 in a window of 640x480... clipping part of the desktop.

Funny to say, this only happens with Ubuntu and Debian guests running QXL drivers. Windows clients with qxl and any non-qxl guests work alright.

Any idea?

Looks like up to a certain point, with the latests patchs this issue does not happen again
