Created attachment 48867 [details] preview tickbox, but no preview window When using the standard Windows open/save dialogs; 1) Use 'insert' -> 'picture' -> 'from file' 2) Now a preview tickbox should be visible, but there is no preview window. 3) The tickbox is shown in writer/calc/impress/draw. Maybe someone can remove this item when using the standard open/save dialogs ?!
Created attachment 48872 [details] Picture of preview box working Not reproducible on LibreOffice 3.4 340m1(Build:12) for OpenSuse Linux. I follow the steps exactly. There is a blank white box to the right of my "Insert Picture" box. And when I tick the preview box, the image of the intended picture appears on the right. Check out my attached document.
You have tested it with 'use libreoffice dialogs' turned off, in Tools > options > libreoffice > general ? I especially said 'windows open/save dialogs'. Can work different under other os's. It not that the preview doesn't work when selecting this option, it's when turned off, there's a leftover tickbox which doesn't do anything. So it should be removed.
