Description chainsawchihuahua 2011-08-07 14:42:57 UTC
Hi there! I have three related suggestions relating to color management:

1) I love the ability to save color swatches, but should a user have to save a new color in order to use it? I'm leaning towards "no," but I'm wondering what the reasons are for having it this way currently. Why not allow users to pick a custom color on the fly... (continued in suggestion 2 below)

2) ...using spinner inputs and/or color wheels and/or triangles? Ideally I would love to see color input methods like Inkscape's (see here http://lukast.mediablog.sk/i/colorchoosers/inkscape-color-chooser.png). Note the different tabs for different color spaces. And speaking of color input...

3) ...can we add support for hexadecimal color input? I have a bunch of swatches and custom palettes already, but I have to go through and manually convert them to RGB in order to save them in LibreOffice currently. At least I think I have to do that; I haven't found a way to enter hex values and nothing in the documentation and no one on IRC could tell me another way.

[This is an automated message.]
This bug was filed before the changes to Bugzilla on 2011-10-16. Thus it
started right out as NEW without ever being explicitly confirmed. The bug is
changed to state NEEDINFO for this reason. To move this bug from NEEDINFO back
to NEW please check if the bug still persists with the 3.5.0 beta1 or beta2 prereleases.
Details on how to test the 3.5.0 beta1 can be found at:
