Created attachment 50045 [details] print preview I have LibreOffice 3.4.2 OOO340m1 (Build:203) installed on Gentoo GNU/Linux amd64 platform . I have also a custom font Europe installed system-wide. I don't know which type of fonts this font belongs to (inspect an attached tar-ball, please). A text, written using the Europe font looks well both in work and in print-preview modes (see first screenshot, please). The same text printed or exported to pdf has totally different appearance (see second screenshot, please). Which person should I contact to try help to solve this problem?

Thanks for quick response. I have already sent screenshots (see attachments with IDs 50045 and 50046). Now take a look on attachments with ID's range from 50081 till 50085, please. As for printing system it seems to work well. The problem with Europe font has started annoying me after I have migrated to libreoffice from openoffice. Nevetheless, I have CUPS 1.4.6 installed and printer configured with standart ppd file (see last attachment). Best regards!
I can confirm I got the same problem when porting some documents from openoffice to libreoffice. PDF export was working flawless in openoffice. When ported to libreoffice the PDF export does not print proper "spaces" inbetween words. I am not using standard system fonts available in linux but top quality ADOBE TYPE 1 fonts (SPIGEL) stored in ./fonts directory
I can't open attachment "the writer's file exported to pdf", error message "ungültiger Farbraum" Problem is NOT reproducible with Server installation of Master "LibO-dev 3.5.0 – WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) English UI [(Build ID: 81607ad-3dca5fd-da627d2)]", installed EUROPE fonts and WRITER sample, distances between words look fine in PDF export and printout.
I have the same problem LibreOffice 3.4.3 OOO340m1 (Build:302) running under Debian Linux Problem appears with Adobe Type 1 fonts e.g. ITC Palatino accented characters (those above ASCII 128) are substituted with others e.g. pound sign becomes ugrave On some occasions spaces also disappear but this is not always the case (still investigating) Problem disappears if changed to True Type fonts for the same document
A bit more investigation suggests that the problem is related to the following 1. OpenOffice and LibreOffice are particular about not embedding proprietary fonts in PDFs - and instead substituting others. So, if you use Helvetica, you'll find that the PDF has Arial embedded in it. 2. I have a second version of Palatino with a different character encoding (for historical reasons) so this is used instead in PDFs. Now, in the past, whatever LibreOffice did with printing was the same as what was on the screen, while the font substitution only happened with PDFs, but we now seem to have font substitution in both cases. It may be some side effect of the fact that I'm printing via CUPS on a printer attached to to a different computer. Hope this helps

Hi to all!!! I've found the solution. Let me remember you that the problem takes place with some TTF fonts only. So. For the first I removed all the Europe fonts (TTF) from the system (I have Gentoo hosted). Next I converted PFB/PFM fonts to OTF ones using the FontForge application. After I've install the OTF fonts instead of the TTF's the problem has gone. HALF-SOLVED?
