Using a radeon 9550SE (detected as 9600) with Fedora xorg-x11-6.8.2-45.i386.rpm running at 2048x1536 the background image is corrupted: * it seems to get redrawn with the content offset by a random horizontal & vertical amount. * copies of the onscreen windows appear in the background image. The actual window contents appear just fine. Guessing as to the problem, it looks like the background image is being kept in the video card ram but the wrong part of video ram gets copied to the visible screen. Same system is just fine at 1920x1440. Also happens with xorg-x11-6.8.99.14-3 binaries downloaded from ftp://people.redhat.com/mharris/testing/unstable/
Errr... I was incorrect about what versions / resolutions the problem occurs with (it helps to restart the X server!) The bug happens at all resolutions with 6.8.99.14 and never with 6.8.2.
I'm not sure if I'm seeing the same issue, using xorg 6.8.99.12 on FreeBSD 7.0-CURRENT with an "ATI Radeon Mobility 9000 (M9) Lf (AGP)" card. It also causes problems for various gnome games like Blackjack. Screenshot of desktop background problem coming up.

This also happens with the nv(4x) driver so it's not radeon specific, I'll leave the component as-is since I have no idea what to change it to.
I did an attempt at a binary search and found that even the 6.8.99.1 snapshot presents this problem. I'll continue the hunt with cvs checkouts between February and April.
I can no longer reproduce this problem with a CVS snapshot from today.
Changing component to Server/general for now.
This works for me in the 7.0 release.
