Description bugreporting 2011-08-15 20:26:52 UTC
In all version of Open Office Draw prior to 3.3.0 release, the user used to be able to insert a picture over an existing picture and it would resize/reshape the new picture to the old picture dimensions - shape & size.

This was useful for template creation. We could shrink a picture/photo and lock it to a position then insert a fresh photo over the top and it would automatically resize the new picture to the old picture dimensions & position.

This is no longer the case and has been broken since open office 3.3.x/Libre office branch/release.

As a test. ( test the old behaviour )
Download open office 3.2.0

Get 2 pictures ( different pictures - can be the same/different dimensions )
Insert -> Picture from file
Select "Picture 1" and insert it on the page.
Scale the the image on the page so it's quite small.

While the same picture is selected
Insert -> Picture from file
Select a "Picture 2" and insert it over the top.

You'll notice it scales "picture 2" down to the size/shape/position of "picture 1"

Now try the same procedure in Libre Office...
You can't insert a picture over the top of the existing picture and have it retain the shape/size/position. It simply adds a new image to the page which then has to be rescaled / repositioned etc.

Had to revert back to open office 3.2.0 to get the functionality back.

Could be this extension:
http://extensions.services.openoffice.org/project/ChangePicture
what are using before, to do it.

No extensions were used.

It used to "just" work prior to 3.3.0
