Description Leo 2011-08-24 01:46:02 UTC
libreoffice 3.4.2 crashes when trying to format cells, regardless of cell count or shortcut used. sometimes it spews
"/usr/bin/libreoffice: line 2: xxxx segmentation fault /usr/lib/libreoffice/program/soffice \"$@\""
on the command line, where xxxx - a 4-digit number, different all the time.

can you describe the steps to reproduce it?
Comment 2 Leo 2011-08-24 07:12:59 UTC
Select any cell or range (or don`t select anything, A1 should be already selected), press Cntrl+1 or select Format->Cells... and it crashes, telling that it`s going to restore the document.

can you test with 3.4.3? I thought that I had fixed it with 3.4.2 but Eike did some more clean-up for 3.4.3
Comment 4 Eike Rathke 2011-08-25 11:11:19 UTC
Even 3.4.2 (amd64 .deb download) doesn't crash here.
Comment 5 Leo 2011-08-25 13:18:16 UTC
I am using Arch linux, and the latest version is 3.4.2-2 (second packaging). Is there a way to install the 3.4.3 and cleanly remove it afterwards?
Comment 6 Eike Rathke 2011-08-26 06:31:57 UTC
(In reply to comment #5)
The download packages install to /opt/libreoffice3.4/... so shouldn't interfere with the distribution's package.
Comment 7 Leo 2011-08-30 06:54:07 UTC
Ok, this gets more interesting: the 3.4.3 installation works fine, and I narrowed down the bug on 3.4.2 - it crashes when choosing the tab "numbers" (it was chosen by default first, dunno what changed it.).

Is it needed to check the 3.4.2 rpm installation (like i did for 3.4.3)?
Comment 8 Eike Rathke 2011-08-31 06:04:52 UTC
If 3.4.3 works I think we can resolve this as fixed. It's probably a duplicate of some other crasher bug related to number formats dialog for which I don't find the bug ID right now.
