So, I go to the Wikipedia website, copy some text into the clipboard, and then want to paste special it into writer (as "unformatted text", to get rid of all formats and links and stuff). While the text IS in the clipboard - I can paste it with all formattings - CTRL-Shift-V or the corresponding choice from Edit: ... doesn't do anything.

This bug was filed before the changes to Bugzilla on 2011-10-16. Thus it
started right out as NEW without ever being explicitly confirmed. The bug is
changed to state NEEDINFO for this reason. To move this bug from NEEDINFO back
to NEW please check if the bug still persists with the 3.5.0 beta1 or beta2 prereleases.

not reproducible from Firefox to LibO 3.6.0 master on Fedora 64 bit
inserts as text and as HTML successfully

Confirmed - I still cannot reproduce this; I went to:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troll

Selected from 'Troll' -> end of 'popular culture.' - I did ctrl-shift-V into libreoffice writer 4.2.0 and selected unformatted text.

I ended up with exactly that range of un-formatted text. More input required on reproduction to re-open it please; Kaesezeh - do you have more data on which page you tried and it's content ?

Resembles Bug 68910 , but situation is reverse: here special pasting is not working and there normal pasting.

Hm, I am trying it now (with LO 4.2.1.1) and it is working. Strange, I definitely didn't mean to troll ...
