Nasty file that triggers the bug

Hi,

Open attached document.
You will see a graph that is half-hidden on the left side of the screen.
Move to the left using the left arrow key (I think it also works with the mouse) as if you wanted to display it completely.
Before you are able to do so, Calc freezes along with gdm (or whatever) making the system unable to respond (GUI and tty console interfaces) and thus killing the proc is not even possible.
Only way out is "Syst+B" (or raising elephants is utterly boring -kinda-stuff)

This is not the first time I experience problems with Calc, see bug 41472. In a more general way it might be likely that there are more than 1 bug triggered when showing a graph/plot.

I'm sorry but I'll have to use Gnumercis instead of Calc for my work. And other users might be tempted too, so this is obiously a critical bug. I'll keep track of LO's progress so don't you worry ;) .

Good luck with this one !

I am using :
 - Linux ix86 Ubuntu 11.04 (libreoffice3.4.3 was installed using the repository)
 - Gnome 2.31.1
 - linux kernel v2.6.38-11-generic-pae

It doesn't happen on my machine, but I've heard it happen on a machine with no hardware accelerated GPU.

Not reproducible, so lowering the severity and priority.

@Kohei Yoshida

ok ! I'm glad the problem is not widely-spread.

In my case, I use my intel chipset's GPU.
I also have an Nvidia GPU but never went through the trouble of installing the drivers. So I assume it is simply "off" and does not interefere.
However, if the Intel GPU is the reason for the freeze, then this could mean that anyone who runs Linux on a recently bought computer (i.e. with a disabled Nvidia GPU) could be subject to this problem. I do not know how many people are in such a case, hopefully very few according to your message, but users experiencing this problem may be temped to change spreadsheet software (as I did actually), so this might be an issue for Libreoffice in the long term.

This bug was filed before the changes to Bugzilla on 2011-10-16. Thus it
started right out as NEW without ever being explicitly confirmed. The bug is
changed to state NEEDINFO for this reason. To move this bug from NEEDINFO back
to NEW please check if the bug still persists with the 3.5.0 beta1 or beta2 prereleases.
Details on how to test the 3.5.0 beta1 can be found at:
