Description Fred Strickland 2011-10-12 09:22:49 UTC
Problem description: I use Microsoft 2007 Excel to create a spreeadsheet. I e-mail to my home. There on my home computer, the spreadsheet appears correctly. I do some work and then e-mail back to my office. When I open up the spreadsheet, the information is present and the columns are correct. HOWEVER, the frozen top row command is turned off and only about 1/4 of the spreadsheet shows. I cannot get the reduced display to fill the whole Microsoft Excel work space. The work around was to copy the entire sheet into a brand new Microsoft Excel file. I have three sheets. So this was a lot of work.

I had to do some work a second time from the house and the same thing happen again.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a Microsoft Excell spreadsheet. Mine has over 800 rows and a frozen first row.
2. Work on this file within Libre Spreadsheet.
3. Open again with Microsoft Excel.

Current behavior: It appears when Libre Spreadsheet saves the file, it must change the setting.

Expected behavior: The file should have the same appearance no matter which spreadsheet program that I use to view the information.

Platform (if different than the browser): My office computer runs Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2007. My home computer runds Windows XP and the latest LibreOffice (at least within the last few months). Both compuers are running Microsoft Internet Explore 8.

@Fred Strickland:
May I ask you to read hints on <http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport> carefully?
Then please:
- Write a meaningful Summary
- Attach a sample document (not only screenshot)
- Attach screenshots with comments if you believe that that might explain the
problem better than a text comment. Best way is to insert your screenshots
into a DRAW document and to add comments that explain what you want to show
- Contribute a step by step instruction containing every key press and every
mouse click how to reproduce your problem (and if possible how to created a
  sample document from the scratch)
- add information
-- what EXACTLY is unexpected. Not "it seems that it might that somehow"
     but
"In Cell xy Number Format changed from Date to Currency " (or similar).
-- and WHY do you believe it's unexpected (cite Help or Documentation!)
  -- concerning your PC
-- concerning your OS (Version, Distribution, Language)
-- concerning your LibO version and localization (UI language)
–- Libo settings that might be related to your problems
    (video hardware acceleration ...)
-- how you launch LibO and how you opened the sample document
–- If you can contribute an OOo Issue that might be useful
-- everything else crossing your mind after you read linked texts

Please attach your sample document here and contribute clear and explecit descriptions of your problem.

No answer, so closed!

@reporter:
Please feel free to reopen this bug if you find out that the problem still exists with LibreOffice version 3.5 and if you can contribute requested additional information due to <http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/BugReport> (especially BugReport Details)!
Comment 3 Fred Strickland 2012-02-15 17:25:29 UTC
Created attachment 57125 [details]
The PDF attachment shows screen shots of an Excel spreadsheet before I used Libre and after I used Libre.

I have tried different LibreOffice builds (3.3 and 3.4) and the problem is present. There times when the behavior does not appear, but does the next day. As long as this problem exists, it prevents meaningful document sharing between Microsoft Office Excel users and LibreOffice Calc users.

Thank you,

Fred
