Description gary 2005-08-24 16:16:44 UTC
Some i815 motherboards have a DVO header which let you plug in an addon card
that would give you a DVI output. With xorg 6.8.2 (and previous versions) on
FC4, the DPMS is broken. The screen will blank, but the LCD backlight does not
turn off. Poking around in the source code, it seems as if there is no support
for DPMS over DVI in the driver. However, it appears that the i830 driver has
this feature? Could this code be extended to the i810 driver as well?

Does it have a chip on your addon card - like a Chrontel or Silicon Image ?? If
so which ?
Comment 2 gary 2006-07-11 02:38:50 UTC
It's a Molex MicroCross DVI Link, it has a Silicon Image PanelLink Sil 164
transmitter chip.

Me too. Samsung X20, Dell 2905fpw, DVI via docking station. I'm using
the 'modesetting' branch to get 1920x1200 resolution but it also happens
mit normal debian etch x.org 7.0.

Any progress on this issue since july?

Sorry about the phenomenal bug spam, guys. Adding xorg-team@ to the QA contact so bugs don't get lost in future.
Comment 5 Gordon Jin 2007-03-14 19:24:22 UTC
The bug priority was upgraded (P2->high) with the bugzilla configuration change.
I'm Changing the priority back to the normal one.
Sorry for the spam.

Anyone working on this bug? I'm having the same problem on my Sony srx51p with the internal lcd screen and with the monitor attached to my mac mini. All using version 2.0.0 of the intel driver.
Comment 7 Alan Hourihane 2007-05-14 04:48:23 UTC
Jan - this bug has nothing to do with the 945/915 chipsets. It's 815 specific.

Please open a new bug for the later chipsets.

Not sure if the Sil164 is supported in the latest modesetting tree...

Gary can you try with the latest released X server and Intel driver? They may work much better for you.
Comment 9 Gordon Jin 2007-11-21 00:32:08 UTC
Gary, are you still available for testing?

Bugzilla Upgrade Mass Bug Change

NEEDSINFO state was removed in Bugzilla 3.x, reopening any bugs previously listed as NEEDSINFO.

Timeout. If this is still an issue, please re-open; afaik we have sil164 support though, so hopefully everything is fine now.
