The extension from Oracle to import PDF's is visible in Tools - Extension Manager of LO is 3.4.2. Attempting to install or update it reliably crashes LO.  LO closes whether a file is open or not.  I'm on openSuse 11.4 (32-bit).

NOT rReproducible with "LibreOffice 3.4.4RC1  - WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) German UI [OOO340m1 (Build:401)]".

What exactly do you do when "Attempting to install or update ..."? In what moment does LibO crash with what messages?

With document open, I go to Tools - Extension Manager.  Click on the "PDF Import" item, which expands and turns blue.  A Click on the "Check for Updates" button at the bottom makes Writer disappear without an error message.  Repeated this twice in the last 10 minutes.  

After the first of these two crashes, the Launcher would open but there was no action from the Writer icon in the Favorites page, which froze.  Could not start LO.  Used CTL-ALT-DEL to reach the shutdown/restart window.  Mouse cursor remained working and so could restart openSuse.  Will save at this point and check Launcher again.

Checked Launcher:  could open writer from an icon in the Favorites list.  It recovered two open documents OK.

My error in not responding to your question about 3.4.3.  This version has not entered the repository for 11.4, that I can see, so have not installed it.  Only 3.4.2 appears.  Will look for 3.4.3 elsewhere and try it, report back.

Installed LibO 3.4.3 from RPM's.  Going to Tools - Manage Extensions shows Ver. 1.0,5 of PDF Import.  However the link to Oracle comes up 404, page not found.  Will look for new repository.
