Created attachment 53118 [details] document that won't open Problem description: When trying to re-open an .ods document (either by double-clicking on the document icon or by selecting it from the "file -> open" dialog) that was saved without any problems immediately before, LibO displays a dialog box that says "Lesefehler. Formatfehler in Teildokument content.xml an Position 2,324170(Zeile,Spalte) in der Datei entdeckt." Rough English translation: "Read error. Format error detected in part document content.xml at file position 2,324170(row, column)." LibO won't crash, but it refuses to open the document. The problem persists after quitting and restarting the application. Of course, the error could also be caused by LibO incorrectly saving the document in the first place. Steps to reproduce: 1. open the attached file "Jahresuebersicht_2012.ods" Current behavior: file won't open at all Expected behavior: file is opened, displayed correctly, can be edited, saved and reopened without errors Platform (if different from the browser): WinXP Professional SP3 Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:7.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/7.0.1
Created attachment 53119 [details] error message when opening the .ods file (German)
I deinstalled LibO 4.3.4 and installed 3.3.4, but 3.3.4 won't open the file either and shows the same error message.
Of counrse, my prevoius comment should read: I deinstalled LibO _3.4.3_ and installed 3.3.4, but 3.3.4 won't open the file either and shows the same error message.
This is no import problem. The file is not valid and can't be opened. Can you reproduce the problem that you can generate invalid files? Otherwise I assume that it was just bad luck in this moment and we can close this bug report.
Today, I tried again with LibO 3.4.4 on WinXP (it had tried with 3.4.3 before ): Installed 3.4.4 (over 3.3.4), opened original version of (3.3.4-saved) ods file (no problem), saved under a new name, quit LibO, re-started and opened the saved ods file. This time, no problems, at least not with opening the file. However, the problem with drawing elements being out of whack (see Bug 42599, https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=42599) still persists. I made some adjustments to the misplaced elements, saved again and re-opened the modified file without any problem. Except for the drawing elements being moved again, that is. So while the problem with LibO 3.4.3 creating invalid files on occasion _might_ be gone in version 3.4.4, Bug 42599 still renders LibO 3.4 unusable for me, so I de-installed it and re-installed 3.3.4. Sigh.
