Sheet where operations are not performed on referenced cells

Hi all,

quite a weird one - the attached Calc sheet has a number of very simple operations, multiply and addition. The cells are referenced properly (click and see the red/blue cells). you can add more numbers to the first two columns, and get the same behaviour when you drag the calculations down.

What seems to be happening is that the value returned is the value from the first referenced cells - and not the cells that on that row.

I think that this bug must be in the existing file because if I copy and paste special the numbers and formulas into a new Calc sheet, the calculations work as expected.

you can get the expected behaviour by re-typing the formula.

... I ended up creating a new sheet, but I was just curious to know how this has came about.

@David Clayton
You have to turn on the option Tools > Cell contents > AutoCalculate, or you have to press F4 to force the calculation manually. Marked as not a bug for now.

F9, not F4. My mistake.

Hi Vitriol,

Thank you! *slight embarrassment at something so simple*

I checked the original sheet and the auto calculate wasn't checked.
