Comment 3 Alan Hourihane 2005-09-23 05:26:44 UTC
X will try to setup the write-combining range for the entire AGP space.

It seems you could be using some other process that setups up an MTRR before X,
and it's usually an *fbdev driver that can cause this.
Comment 4 Alan Hourihane 2005-09-23 05:33:27 UTC
reassigning this to Driver/nv as Bill is using an NVIDIA card not the i810 driver.
Comment 5 Bill Nottingham 2005-09-23 08:28:04 UTC
Whoops, apoligies for the misfiled component.

No framebuffer is in use.
Comment 6 Allison Lortie (desrt) 2005-10-15 14:48:48 UTC
"me too". I get this problem with a Radeon 9600 in an Intel-based ASUS P4P800SE
board.

Some time ago, I filed a bug here --
http://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=16122
Comment 7 Allison Lortie (desrt) 2006-01-28 05:30:27 UTC
This bugreport closed in Ubuntu some time ago. It was fixed with a new kernel
version and I'm reasonably sure it was a kernel bug.
Comment 8 Erik Andren 2006-04-07 04:21:43 UTC
Bill, are you still experiencing this problem using a current version of xorg?
Comment 9 Erik Andren 2006-04-30 17:24:31 UTC
Closing. Please reopen if the problem still persits in a current version of xorg.
Comment 10 Bill Nottingham 2006-05-02 04:50:13 UTC
Sorry about the delay. Appears fixed with a 2.6.16.x kernel and the xorg 1.0.1
server code.
