Problem description: Under Data -> Validity -> Criteria it is possible to specify that the value entered be in a specified range. That criteria is labelled as "between" which is confusing as it seems to imply that the minimum and maximum might not be included in the allowed range (although they are). Steps to reproduce: 1. Click Data -> Validity 2. In the Criteria tab, look at the Data drop-down selector. 3. On of the options in "between" this would be better labelled as "range", or perhaps "allowed range". Current behaviour: A first-time user has a few moments of puzzlement trying to decide if the minimum and maximum values specified are included or not in the allowed range. Expected behaviour: The label used should make the validity check's behaviour clear to the user. Platform (if different from the browser): Browser: Mozilla/5.0 (Ubuntu; X11; Linux i686; rv:8.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/8.0
In 3.5.2 still exist. IMHO it is enhancement request, because no variant "between not including", therefore impossible to confuse with something. In help nothing about including values. But we can easily determine this by experiment.
I'm taking care of this. I've changed the wording to "valid range" and "invalid range". Going to push it tonight.
Thanks for fixing this bug
I've been asked to hold the push until one of the other devs push changes to the same file. As soon as he does I'll get my changes out. No guarantee they'll be accepted as "between" and "not between" have been used for so long. I'll post back when there is an update
Fix has been committed. Thanks for reporting the bug :)
