This issue is about saving text file with equation objects in the docx format. The equation objects are not saved properly, so that they are not seen after re-opening the file. Steps to reproduce: 1) File > New > Text Document 2) Insert > Object > Formula, 3) Type "1 over 2 = 0.5" and go back to normal mode. 4) File > Save As, MS word 2007/2010 xml (.docx) 5) File > Close. 6) Re-open the file. Expected result: to see the equation object. Actual result: the equation object is lost.
Reproduced with LOdev 3.5.0beta2 4ca392c-760cc4d-f39cf3d-1b2857e-60db978 Ubuntu 10.04.3 x86 Linux 2.6.32-37-generic Russian UI Support for this only appears in 3.5. >Support for export and import of Math formulas in Office Open XML (docx) >documents (Luboš Luňák) http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleaseNotes/3.5
NOT reproducible anymore for me with LibreOffice 3.5.2.2 (Build-ID: 281b639-6baa1d3-ef66a77-d866f25-f36d45f), German UI, running on MacOS X 10.6.8. Following the steps given in the original description (@Gryllida: thank you very much for your exact description!), everything works as expected: when I re-open the file, the equation object is there. There is a good chance that this bug really got fixed in between; there have been some fixes to formula import/export to/from .docx. @Gryllida, @tester8: Could you please try again with LibreOffice 3.5.2 (or newer), if you can still reproduce the problem? If NOT, we can close this bug report as RESOLVED/WORKSFORME ...
