Description Stefan Neufeind 2011-12-29 18:12:57 UTC
Tested with WinXP, 32-bit (for running some older stuff)

Providing the VM with either only a QXL-interface *or* the virtio-serial-channel works. But trying to activate both fails on next reboot (early during Windows logo-screen).

Unfortunately the downgrade to vioserial-win-1.1.16.zip Hans described in the above mentioned thread didn't work out for me. I made sure to rebuild after uninstall, after installing the virtio-driver (and double-checked it had a date from mid-2010) etc. but adding QXL and rebooting it hung.

What version of spice/qxl are you using? And what kernel are you using on the host? This bug mysteriously went away for me after a distro upgrade on the host. Before that I could reproduce it at will. After that, I've never been able to reproduce.
