Description asergiu 2012-01-19 07:53:27 UTC
Hi,
I thought this to be the problem of the multitouch module recently introduced into the kernel. How ever testing with a longlasting already Egalax single touch touchscreen yields the same results.

Description:
Connecting an external display (trough VGA) to a machine that has an integrated LVDS or some other type of display with touchscreen and setting different resolutions with xrandr on the two outputs the touchscreen is not mapped correctly after settings the resolution (it is shifted or displaced).

Example:
A tablet with a opensuse 11.3 kernel 2.6.39-xx and native resolution of 1024x600 + external display (1920x1080 capable but not 1024x600) -connected trough VGA

1) setting external display to 1024x768 - introduces a small shift (displacement) on the touchscreen manipulation on the tablet screen as we approach the bottom part of the screen.

2) setting the external display to 1920x1080 (which far larger than the resolution of the internal display with touch) - the touchscreen is not usable anymore as it is highly decalibrated.

Is there a solution ? Is this a bug ?

looks like is covered by xinput manually only by now. So this can be closed.
