From the xscreensavers (/usr/lib/xscreensaver/dangerball): dangerball: intel_tris.c:128: intel_extend_inline: Assertion 'intel->prim.flush == intel_flush_inline_primitive' failed.
Looks like this also got fixed by the i865 vert-counting series. At least, 8.0 fails and master works now.
