NOT [Reproducible] with attached document created similar as reported (I was too lazy to do it the exact way) and with "LibreOffice Portable 3.3.0 - WIN7 Home Premium (64bit) German UI [OOO330m19 (Build:6) tag libreoffice-3.3.0.4]". We really need a sample document.

@Christopher Yeleighton:
We really need the sample document.
Can we simply say "Crash wehen convert very big tables"?
Your Version is very outdated, may be you want to try with a current one?

Your text is on the boundary of unresponsiveness. I pasted your data to a new document and told Writer to convert text to table. Then I told the Window Manager to close the document window and I got a notification that the application is not responding. Shortly thereafter, I got a question from Writer whether to save the modified document and the window manager notification disappeared.

Depending on your hardware, you may want to try with a bigger N.

Writer does not crash, it stops responding.

Related to or DUO of "Bug 39540 - EDITING Improve performance for insert big tables"?
Generally every software can be overloaded, if not with 10000rows/1000columns may be with a million rows and a million couluns. But for what should that be useful?

Christopher Yeleighton:
We still need your sample document and some reasons why you believe that LibO does not fulfill normal requirements what you can expect from a WORD processor.
Comment 7 Rainer Bielefeld Retired 2012-03-24 11:43:23 UTC
Forgot to mention: a table conversion to a table with several hundred columns and may be 1500 rows (I did not really count) on more than 600 din A4 pages no is some hard stuff for my LibO, can't tell whether it stopped responding or only needs a long time.

Hi,

I don't know and completely ignore this "Confirmed" flag, it will be set by Bugzilla without commenter's influence.

I here attach my test document from Comment 7 for your own tests. Selecting all text and converting to table (TAB as delimiter) will take several hours, but for me it worked without crash.

I will mar this one as DUP, because I am pretty sure that the problem here is a result of limited Table performance.

@reporter:
Please feel free to reopen this Bug if fix for "Bug 39540 - EDITING Improve performance for insert big tables" will not bring visible progress for your needs.
