Description Steve 2005-09-25 13:10:44 UTC
Brief Synopsis:
Built the latest X.org cvs.
The radeon driver fails to load. I tried both radeon and ati.
The vesa driver works.
My kernel was compiled with the -mregparm=3 gcc option.
I don't believe this affects anything as my old 6.8.1 X is working fine.

Hardware:

The xorg.conf was posted as an addition comment but I sould note that
the device says vesa but other than that its the same config file i use.

I snooped through the xc/programs/Xserver/hw/xfree86/common directory.
In particular, xf86pciBus.c. I think this is where the problem may reside.
I'm studying how X allocates the resources. It seems to poll all the pci
devices. I don't see myself coming up with a solution at anytime within the
near future. It's alot of code to absorb.

thanks

I've fixed this I think. It was a missing return TRUE in RADEONSetupMemXAA().
