Description Manik Chand 2012-02-13 06:45:25 UTC
When I paste any image into libreoffice writer, the document scrolls down to the last page. Reproducible always. This behaviour is experienced in the previous versions as well.
Requirements : medium length document, approx 100 pages. Normal Copy and paste using clipboard.

I can provide any extra information needed.
Thanks.

Thanks for bugreport
Sorry, but I can not reproduce it in 3.5.1 on Fedora 64 bit
Please, provide step-by-step instruction how to reproduce this bug.
Also, try on another computer/OS/distro/desktop if available

I have always used opensuse but always installed the libreoffice packages from the lO download site. After facing a lot of trouble, mostly with KDE integration, finally have installed the opensuse version. The problems have gone almost. It is not that the particular paste problem has not recurred but paste now behaves well for almost 90 percent of the time. Now using LibreOffice 3.4.4 OOO340m1 (Build:1403)

Thanks for additional testing

I also saw this problem randomly, but currently I do not know how to make it 100% reproducible.

@Manik Chand
Kan ou attach a small testkit.zip with a document related step by step instruction?

Additional situation encountered.

Whenever I encounter such an event, I have found a method to mitigate it.
In a new paragraph when I try to paste an image and the paste happens and scrolls down to bottom of the document, I can now disallow such action by pressing any character or space bar once before pasting. So after paste, I am not scrolled down to bottom of document.
I use KDE and I found that the paste button does not always become active after I copy some text/graphics from any other application, say chrome browser. However as I use middle mouse key to paste, paste happens even without the paste button becoming active. However soon after paste happens paste button becomes active indicating that something is on the clipboard. I have randomly encountered this behaviour and so I don't have any conclusive reason to believe that this behaviour is linked with the issue presently being discussed.

@Rainer Bielefeld: I don't know how that zip is created. If there is a libreoffice tracking app or debug mode or anything like that, possibly I could have made a case. As this bug does not activate upon each paste, it is difficult to generate a scenario. Hope you understand.

Disappearing ability to paste into Writer reproducible in 3.3.4 on KDE. This happens after copy-paste several (about 15..30) pictures from Gimp to Writer. I solve it by restarting Writer. I have no steps to reproduce this bug.

I now use Version 4.0.2.1 (Build ID: 400m0(Build:1)) on OpenSuSE 11.4 Now the bug has become non-produce-able. The older behaviour is not repeating. Please remove this bug.
