Summary says it all really. The lists at sourceforge.net just do not work reliably. That messages are delayed for hours is rather the norm than the exception, but really annoying is that every few months the list will just not work, no mails can be received (typically, they will get distributed after a few days). Sometimes, mails get redistributed half a year later for no apparent reason and so on.

Would you rather get spam from the lists? If not, you're welcome to help moderating more promptly. :) > but really annoying is that every few months the list will just not work, no > mails can be received (typically, they will get distributed after a few days). > Sometimes, mails get redistributed half a year later for no apparent reason > and so on. I don't remember seeing that recently, but it's probably due to sf.net and hence out of our control anyway.

But subscriber posts often have delays too. > > but really annoying is that every few months the list will just not work, no > > mails can be received (typically, they will get distributed after a few days). > > Sometimes, mails get redistributed half a year later for no apparent reason > > and so on. > > I don't remember seeing that recently, For instance this weekend. Some mails I sent needed more than 2 days to arrive (though yes, the redistribution after months hasn't happened recently). > but it's probably due to sf.net and hence > out of our control anyway. Certainly it's due to sf.net (there's a note that mailing lists had problems the weekend at sf.net). But there are other solutions available than sf.net.
hello, if mailing list on sf stop working, first we should look at "SourceForge.net Site Status Page" http://sourceforge.net/docman/display_doc.php?group_id=1&docid=2352, and see if a problem is already reported. In yours reported date we have one downtime scheduled. Mailing List Service: Online - Downtime Scheduled Last updated: 2005-10-03 if nothing had happens and we still have problems with malling lists go to http://sourceforge.net/support/getsupport.php#sitesupport and submitting a Support Request. normally they fix the problems quickly.
