In calc , Hide / Show sheets option should be there on (right click) sheet tabs.
Currently we need to go to Edit --> Sheets --> Show / Hide

Its a very common operation for the sheet when you are right clicking the sheets tab. ... you can see the option it even with MS excel !

Confirming as an enhancement request. Prioritizing as High as I do think it's relatively common and also marking as proposed easy hack.
