It looks like my comment disappeared when I uploaded the file.

I opened LiO and was paging through a Writer file and it crashed and hung. I will leave the hung file in place for a while in case someone wants me to give them some particular info. It is now 12 noon EST.

i don't know if this is relevant to existing soffice.bin prob, but it may be connected

I have found a fault in VLC (acknowledged by Videolan) that defaults to assigning .bin extensions to VLC in the latest release installation

Effect is that soffice.bin does not seem to work ( typically scalc, soffice.bin and soffice.com are loaded in memory but no spreadsheet appears - deleting in task manager may not work , and system reload may be required)

I deinstalled VLC , reinstalled (and unselected assign of .bin) but still does not work

Have deinstalled VLC, reinstalled LO 3.5, but problem continues , even when selecting LO system)

Have now run CCleaner to clear Registry, whch has removed series of unused file extensions and can now load LibreOffice system

However when try to load existing ssheet which has large no of sheets, it fails to complete the load - help

Further to Comment 4, can now load this large spreadsheet, but there may be memory problems

Martin/Phillip: could you give a try to a newer LO version (3.6.4)?

Try raw method:
- uninstall LO
- rename (or delete if no customization) your LO directory profile (see https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/UserProfile)
- clean Windows registry (with a free tool like ccleaner)
- install last version

I have been using Version 3.6.4.3 (Build ID: 2ef5aff) since it was first available, and my problem has NOT occurred. However, I also uninstalled Tune Up Utilities, which might have helped.

Phillip: thank you for your feedback. I update the tracker to WFM.
However, if you reproduce this problem, don't hesitate to reopen this tracker.
